What if Ape Escape was Darker and Edgier? Like even more then Million Monkeys.

Ape Escape Future follows various Ape Escape characters as they learn to navigate a Post-Apocalyptic world after the events of Million Monkeys. The main story focuses on Spike, a troubled teenager that's searching endlessly for working remants of the Professor's Time Station.

While Ape Escape Future currently doesn't exist outside of this Tropes Page, various art pieces, and the creator's own head, there is always a chance the story could manifest into a visual novel, comic, or some other artistic medium.

Alliterative Name: Several characters in AE:Future have alliterative names. Most notably, Hiroki Harukawa, Kakeru Koizumi, and Haruka Hirohashi.
Ascended Fridge Horror: Many moments in various Ape Escape titles are recontextualized as being far more dangerous and scarring than what canon portrays. Some notable examples include:
Deconstruction: At it's core, AE:Future is a deconstruction of the Kid Hero trope. The main questions AE:Future tries to answer are "What would happen if the trauma these monkey catchers were put through was taken seriously by the narrative? How would they cope with the trauma and the glorification of said trauma by society? What would happen if the narrative treated more monkeys as individuals separated from Specter?"

Silly Rabbit, Cynicism Is for Losers!: One of the main conflicts in AE:Future is between Spike and Hikaru's opposing views on Monkeys and the world at large. While Spike believes that monkeys are inherently dangerous and cannot be trusted, Hikaru believes in a world where humans and intelligent monkeys can get along. Peaceful Pipo Monkeys, like Peanut, ultimately prove that Hikaru's idealized perspective holds some merit.
